My project starts here at Boston Pipe

3 feet of schedule 40 PVC

A big special thanks to Jeremy of Coral
Reef Aquarium in Seekonk MA.
Not only did he supply me with almost all of the
lighting pieces and parts but he also helped me
cut this monster pipe into two identical pieces.
|

Here's how we cut it:
1. We used a string and a weight and
placed the pipe on a level surface and let gravity
do the first straight line for us.
2. We wrapped a string around the
circumference of the pipe and cut it.
3 Then we cut that string in half
and wrapped the string around the pipe frome our
first line and marked where our second line would
go.
4. We used the string and weight again
to achieve our second straight line.
5. Then we held our breath and ran
it through the table saw.
We ended up with two identical pieces!
This exercise is proof that not sleeping through
geometry class can help you later in life :-) |

It worked!

A hole in the top for the wires to come out.

Halides mounted and in place - ready for test.

Two AB 13k 250w lamps firing up.

After being on for a few minutes you could not look anywhere
near the rig without being blinded! Oh my eyes! Hep me!
Hep me! I can't see!
